20 Elevated Spring Basics You Won’t Believe Are Under $50

You guys know how much I love shopping for basics that I can wear again and again, so I always start there before jumping into the trends. One of the best things about great basics is being able wear them through multiple seasons and using your creativity to change up the look. Not only that but if you shop carefully enough, you’ll manage find some of the best styles way below the $50 mark! I’ve been doing a ton of shopping at Walmart over the past year and have found several of my favorite staples there. Free Assembly is always one of the first brands I seek out because of the clean, elevated aesthetic. Everything always feels more expensive than it actually is – and you can wear the pieces in endless ways. Now that the Free Assembly spring collection is out, I wanted to share 20 of my picks that are foundational for any closet.

The beginning of spring is all about transitional dressing, which calls for lightweight layers. This utility jacket had my name all over it given the laid back meets put together vibe. It’s light enough to layer over anything but is also warm enough to beat the lingering chill in the air. Other great options are this cotton peacoat and this trench.

Spring remains cold in Minnesota for the most part – but we can usually trade our chunky sweaters for lighter knits. The most sought-after styles of the season are cropped cardigans, striped sweaters and collared knits. You can find each of them from the Free Assembly line at Walmart.

Comfort wear remains supreme this spring, and I’m definitely here for it since I haven’t reached a point of fatigue with sweatpants or leggings. I’ve been loving these Free Assembly leggings for the flattering cut. They’re slightly cropped, which makes my legs appear longer than they actually are – and I can wear them during workouts.

There’s a range of pant styles to test out, but baggy, 90’s style denim are cut you need for the most current feel. Despite being trendier, they can be worn with just about any staple in your arsenal. If that’s not up your alley, Free Assembly also offers both skinny and straighter silhouettes.
