Beach Vacation Essentials For Your Next Getaway

fashion blogger wearing a red dress by judith march in miamiSpring break is just a few weeks away – and that calls for nothing other than a beach vacation! I can honestly use some sand and sun right now, so I thought it’d be fun to put together a list of all the items that I’m currently craving! The beauty of packing for the beach is that swimwear, cover-ups and dresses don’t take up a ton a space so overpacking a little won’t hurt. Certain pieces go without saying, like denim shorts and casual tees. However, other items do require a little updating. Today, I’ll be focusing on those vacation pieces that can use a refresh!

Swimsuits

First on the list is of course swimwear! While you guys know that I usually gravitate towards more minimal styles, I do seek out unique details that feel of-the-moment. I’ve been loving the lingerie-like underwire look, cutout one-pieces, and wrap-around styles.

Swim Cover-Ups

One of the easiest ways to make an old swimsuit feel new is with a chic cover-up. I’ve been enthralled with crochet and sheer designs. There are so many options from dresses to skirts to chic sets – and they all make lazy days on the beach feel more elevated.

Two-Piece Sets

I’m still not over the two-piece set trend and will be packing several for my next tropical getaway! Whether it’s a linen short set, billowy skirt and top, or some casual knits, I know I’ll look the part while grabbing lunch or partaking in a small town exploration. I’ve said this many times before, but I think it’s so important to note that sets can be worn separately. That makes them worth investing in!

Dresses

A beach vacation just wouldn’t be the same without dresses! I always pack a variety from more casual, breezy numbers constructed of cotton or linen to dressy, goddess-like gowns. It’s not everyday that I get to rock a cute frock, so when I’m on vacation, I always jump at every opportunity.

Accessories

Finally, the accessories are what make a beach vacation special! Just one or two straw hats is usually sufficient along with three bags. I usually pack a spacious tote, a crossbody and a medium-sized bag to cover myself on all fronts. With shoes, I’ll stick to a few slides to wear on and off the beach and just one pair of heels for that special dinner situation.
