Spring always feels like a breath of fresh air after a long winter, so it’s a good idea to switch up your wardrobe to match the mood. For me, that means looking forward to lighter and brighter color combinations as well as breezy, feminine pieces to add to my closet. With retailers dropping new pieces daily at this point, I can easily go overboard attempting to revamp my wardrobe. As you’re preparing your wardrobe for lighter temperatures, you’ll need some spring jackets to ease of out of the winter chill. A trench coat, blazer, or a cropped jacket are all you really need to feel fresh for the warmer days. I’m still wearing this trench coat I found at Walmart by Free Assembly last month. The roomy fit allows you to comfortably layer oversized shirts and cardigans underneath.

Spring denim is all about wider leg openings, heavily influenced by the 90’s and Y2K eras. Walmart serves up a great collection this season that spans across flares, straight leg and wide cuts. I’m even loving the jumpsuit variations that make for a chic head-to-toe denim look.

Pop Of Color

It’s impossible to talk about spring trends without mentioning color. We’re seeing saturated hues all across the board from clothing to shoes and accessories. If you’re a neutral lover like me, bold shoes or a handbag are great ways to add a beautiful pop to your look.

Statement Tops

The warmer weather always brings forth a myriad of statement tops. Some of the trendiest details to keep an eye out for are corset silhouettes, ruffles, and bow-tie straps. Since these pieces do tend to be fleeting, it makes the most sense to save in this category. That doesn’t have to mean giving up style though. As you can see below, Walmart’s has several fun, flirty pieces that are affordable – but also liven up the wardrobe.

Sandals

If there’s just one thing to get excited about this spring, it’s the all the unique shoe trends that are cropping up. I’m loving more polished styles like these square toe heels for work and everyday. But, I really can’t wait to rock chunky sole sandals. They’re laid-back enough to pair with denim shorts, but are so chic juxtaposed with a sundress. I just love the edgy contrast they lend to feminine pieces.
