I had this bag on my wish list forever but delayed purchasing it because I wanted to make sure I wasn’t just caving into hype. Earlier this spring felt like the right time to buy it after waiting for two long years. I just couldn’t stop thinking about the minimal design, mini size and alluring Intrecciato leather. And over time, I found myself adoring it even more than when I initially saw it. I’ve now been carrying this bag for two months and thought I’d give you all a breakdown of everything you need to know before making your own investment.

What Can It Hold?

The Bottega Veneta Mini Jodie Bag might be small but it fits quite a few items given its mini size! I usually carry my iPhone 13 ProMax, a Louis Vuitton card case and a lipstick. The bag is more than sufficient to hold all those things. In terms of dimensions, it measures 8.7″ H x 10.5″ W x 3.5″ D, which is perfect for my everyday needs.

How Durable Is It? Does It Stain Easily?

This bag is made from Bottega’s signature Intrecciato leather, which is both buttery soft and durable. It’s made in Italy from 50% Lambskin and 50% Calfskin. So although it feels incredibly supple and luxurious, it’s not too delicate and won’t stain or scratch easily. I’ve taken my bag on a few trips already and it’s still in pristine condition.

How Often Do I Carry It?

Perhaps the best feature about this bag is that it’s so versatile. It’s great for everyday wear (as seen in the image below) but also works with dressier summer looks. The Bottega Veneta Mini Jodie Bag comes in a ton of different colors, but I went with the white one since I felt my collection was missing a minimal bag for the season. I’m definitely happy with my choice because it goes with so many different summer outfits. I can’t seem to stop carrying it lately!

Is It A Trendy or Timeless Bag?

The one question I get most is whether or not this bag will stand the test of time. I honestly think it will stay relevant for many reasons… For instance, Bottega’s iconic Intrecciato leather has been around for decades and remains highly-sought after in the fashion community. Newer Bottega bag silhouettes, like the Jodie, has only modernized this aesthetic, making it more desirable than ever. In terms of size, mini bags continue to emerge in designer collections with each passing season, proving that they’re no longer just a trend.

Would I Buy It Again?

You guys know I tend to take my time with investment pieces since I strive to only go after those that have longevity. That often means being “late” to a bag trend – and the Bottega Veneta Mini Jodie Bag is definitely one of those pieces for me. I’ve been reaching for this bag over and over, so I know for a fact that it was a brilliant buy. It’s so easy to style and adds a luxe factor to any outfit.
