What to Wear for Summer Date Nights

I’m a big believer that date nights should feel a little special. So, even though my summer style tends to lean casual, I always strive to dial things up a notch for fun night out. I find that it’s the little things that make a big difference even if you’re wearing jeans and a t-shirt. I’ll usually throw in a bold accessory or a single statement piece – and that’s all it takes to shake things up. There’s really no need to overcomplicate your outfit. That being said, if you’ve got a couple of summer date nights coming up from al fresco dinners to drinks at a fancy bar, I’ve got some chic looks you can replicate on any budget.
Balmain Blazer (better for budget here) | Abercrombie Button-Down Shirt | Commando Faux Patent Leather Leggings | Tom Ford Padlock Leather Sandals | Saint Laurent Sunglasses (better for budget here) | Louis Vuitton Coussin PM Bag
1. Button Down Shirt, Leather Pants & Heels
When in doubt, an edgy piece like leather leggings, will surely turn up the heat. If the evenings get cooler where you live, you can totally pull off patent leather leggings. Just pair the show-stopping piece with a button-down top and heels for an evening-ready ensemble. For warmer cities, change out the leggings for loose leather pants in a light neutral color.
Amazon White Corset | Agolde Straight Leg Jeans (better for budget here) | Saint Laurent Sunset Bag | Celine Sunglasses (exact style sold out, similar here and better for budget here) | Chanel Earrings | Manolo Blahnik Heels (better for budget here)
2. Corset Top & Loose Jeans
My summer date night uniform has to be a corset top and relaxed jeans. This foolproof combination is effortless yet sexy in the best way possible. It works for any nighttime scene in the city. I found this corset from Amazon for just $30 and it’s one of the best summer purchases you can make.
4th & Reckless Asymmetric Bodysuit | 4th & Reckless Wide Leg Trousers (wearing an XS) | Open Edit Chain Strap Heels | Rag & Bone Panama Hat (better for budget here) | Bottega Veneta Jodie Mini Bag
3. Bodysuit & Wide Leg Pants
If you love dressing up, this next outfit combination is for you. The blend of a sleek bodysuit and wide leg pants is everything a balmy, romantic night should embody. It’s classy, on-trend and ultra feminine. If you want to show a little more skin, you can exchange the bodysuit for a knit bralette.

4. Jumpsuit
Nothing screams summer more than a jumpsuit! It’s such a nice change of pace from the typical dress yet is just as easy to throw on. The beauty of jumpsuits is that they be as dressy or casual as you like them to be, so there’s no going wrong. Just add heels and you’re all set for a night out on the town.

5. Knit Dress or Skirt & Lace-Up Heels
Chances are you already own a knit midi dress and sultry lace-up heels. So, you can probably whip up this next outfit in just a few seconds. Knit dresses can feel a bit basic so if you really want to amplify your look, consider an eye-catching hue or a bold stripes.
