With several more weeks of summer to go, there’s probably nothing you want to wear more than a pair of chic shorts. Dresses are, of course, never a bad idea but shorts are the equal counterpart when you want to be casual and comfortable. For years, many of us have resorted to the tried-and-true denim cutoffs – but today, I’m making a case for a few other options you’ll want to add to your rotation. I’ve been embracing everything from biker shorts to criss-cross waist cuts to boxer shorts. I’m finding that they’re a failproof way to look pulled together while wearing as little as possible in the sweltering heat. 1. Crisscross Denim Shorts

2. Biker Shorts

You girls know I’m a huge proponent of athleisure wear. Sweatpants and leggings are my jam but when it’s too hot to think, biker shorts are foolproof. If you follow me on Instagram, I think it’s obvious that my summer uniform has been a biker short set with a blazer.

One of the newer short styles I’ve been loving is boxer shorts. Whether you’re into quilted designs or lofty cotton shorts, they just give off a nonchalant vibe that looks endlessly cool. Although I’m obsessed with casual dressing, my style tends to skew dressy most of the time. For those days when I want to feel more elevated, paperbag waist shorts are my go-to.
