Between all of the seasons, winter seems to drag on the longest. Cold temperatures, blustery winds, and the innate desire to stay indoors is enough to make any day feel drawn out. But no matter what, I find that dressing up never fails to be a mood booster. I’ll be the first to admit that I’m guilty of wanting to lounge in my sweatpants all day, but I know that getting out of them is the best way to shake things up. A chic outfit instantly puts me in a better state of mind – even when I plan on staying in. If you find yourself in a winter style rut, I pulled together 6 cold weather outfits that won’t make you miss your PJs at all.

1. Puffer Vest, Workout Set & High-Top Sneakers

Chic workout gear is the next best thing to wearing your loungewear all day. Even better if it happens to be a matching set. If you do happen to run out for errands, a puffer vest is the perfect layering device. Finish off your athleisure inspired outfit with a baseball cap and some high-top sneakers.

2. Denim Dress and Knee-High Boots

When a winter social obligation comes your way, consider this no-brainer outfit formula. A trend-forward denim jacket (repurposed as a dress) and a sleek pair of knee-high boots make for a killer combo. The result isn’t overly dressy but still comes off sophisticated and trend savvy.

3. Monochromatic Layering

One of my best kept style tricks is to opt for monochromatic looks. A head-to-toe outfit in the same color will always appear intentional and put together. This season, shearling jackets have been my go-to outerwear piece when I want a look that comes off cool and collected. From there, tacking on a jumpsuit and OTK boots in a similar hue make for an effortlessly layered outfit.

4. Sherpa Coat Catsuit, & Slouchy Boots

To make getting dressed on a cold winter’s day as easy as possible, I cannot recommend the catsuit enough. This all-in-one bodysuit acts as a flattering base for all of your layers. On casual days, I tend to gravitate towards a cozy sherpa jacket and a pair of coordinating shoes.

5. Poncho, Turtleneck, & Tall Boots

One of my favorite winter pieces that doesn’t get nearly enough love has to be the poncho (or cape coat). It’s undeniably chic and eye-catching, offering a unique way to stay warm. To add a contemporary spin, I love styling mine with a simple turtleneck top, basic leggings and tall leather boots.

6. Teddy Coat & Leather Pants

Some times, all it takes is a little texture to feel refreshed. I can think of no better piece to bring the wow factor than a teddy coat. As far as what lies underneath, a form-fitting bodysuit and a pair of leather pants never fails to impress. The sleek outfit and bulky teddy jacket work to balance one another out.
