My Favorite Spring Jackets for Transitional Dressing

fashion blogger wearing a brown catsuitAs much as I love winter and everything that comes along with it, I am so ready to stow away my heavy winter coats and replace them with lighter alternatives. I’m talking trench coats, cropped jackets and the like that are better suited for the onset of spring. After all, there isn’t anything handier than a small rotation of jackets that can make any outfit feel fresh for the warm days ahead. This year, there is no need to overhaul your entire closet. A careful curation of spring jackets will be enough to help you transition into the new season. Get a sneak peek of the spring coats I’m coveting most in the following list.

Trench Coat

It’s no surprise as to why the trench coat has stood the test of time. The sweeping silhouette is remarkably chic and ideal for combatting the transitional period between winter and spring. Although the trench coat leans more business casual, it is actually the most versatile jacket you can own. You can just as easily layer it over sweats as you can with a spring dress.

Cropped Silhouettes

For a contemporary twist to your spring layers, consider opting for a cropped silhouette. This shorter cut works well for a myriad of styles. From shortened work jackets to cropped denim jackets, they act as a breath of fresh air after months of wearing bulky parkas.

Tweed

Parisian dressing is in this spring and there’s one outerwear to rule them all. Tweed jackets are the timeless layering device your closet has been missing. This coveted, textured coat is perfect for adding a polished finish to everything from denim to trousers.

Pastel Blazer

My love for blazers will never fade. But this year, not just any blazer will do. In addition to blacks and beiges, incorporate pastels into the mix. After all, there’s nothing quite like embracing spring than with a refreshing palette of pinks, creams, and blues.

Denim Jacket

Denim is forever. And although the denim jacket has never gone out of style, there is no denying that it has become more mainstream this season. As we lean into relaxed layering, this outerwear device could not be more fit for everyday wear. Personally, I love leaning into oversized silhouettes for ease of layering.

Sherpa / Fleece

There’s one jacket I am not so quick to store away. Sherpa or fleece jackets are ideal for the period between late winter and the early days of spring. This means, there is no better time than now to wear it. My go-to way of styling a cozy sherpa jacket is with a matching workout set and sneakers for an effortlessly cool vibe.
