Summer Outfits You Can Actually Wear to Work

fashion blogger mia mia mine wearing trousers and a white blazer Summer can be one of the easiest seasons to get dressed for work. Since the weather is warm from the time you wake up till when you’re ready for bed, you can easily add or shed layers as needed. I love buying clothing that I can dress up for workweek meetings and then switch out for more casual ensembles on the weekends. Although you can’t go wrong with blazers and button downs, there are other office-appropriate pieces that can take you from desk to drinks in a pinch. If you struggling finding that perfect balance, I’m sharing the summer outfits I often wear that are also ideal in the office.

Jumpsuit

I am all about outfits that don’t require much thought – especially when it comes to getting ready for work. Luckily, jumpsuits fit the bill! There are so many chic, stylish one pieces that can be worn for work or for play. Eyelet, linen, or chambray jumpsuits are especially nice because of their lighter weight, which is ideal when commuting to and from the office each day. If you’re sensitive to cooler indoor temperatures, bring along a light blazer or cardigan to layer on top.

Sleeveless Blouses

If your office dress code is more relaxed with “business casual”, sleeveless blouses are a great piece when it is warm out. You can easily tuck them into pencil skirts, pair them with cropped trousers, or even high-waisted jeans on casual Friday’s. I love going for neutral colors such as ivory and black since they’re so perfect for mixing and matching throughout the season!

Leather Skirt

Any garment that you can rework into multiple outfits is always a great investment. One of the pieces people don’t often think they can wear to work is leather. However, a knee or midi-length skirt always looks polished. To balance out the edgier bottom, you can add an airy blouse or a cozy knit top. A pair of open-toe sandals also help prevent the outfit from looking too heavy.

Coordinating Set

Just like jumpsuits, coordinating sets are a summer staple. When shopping for work appropriate styles, look for options that aren’t too revealing, practical, and can be worn in multiple ways! One of my current favorites is a ruffled top and matching ruffled midi skirt set. They look killer when worn together and just as good when worn separately with other pieces in my closet. Pointed toe pumps really tie the look together.

Tweed Jacket & Skirt

Nothing says timeless, classic style more than a tweed jacket. This outerwear option is great for the summer because it is generally pretty light. It layers perfectly over any bottom, including denim. When in doubt, dress in layers because you can always remove the tweed jacket when it’s hot and can pop it back on when you get chilly! I also love that you can take this piece into fall.
