Each season there are a number of IT designer pieces that, without fail, sell out before the actual season even begins. Over the years of buying designer pieces, I’ve learned that in order to score the hottest pieces of the season, you have to shop a couple months before the actual season begins. The trendiest fall pieces sell out the earliest (sometimes even before August), but even fall classics will sell out once fall hits.
I don’t tend to feature a lot of pieces on my Instagram until fall actually rolls around, but oftentimes my favorite pieces are already sold out by then and so many of you message me asking for help tracking them down. This year, I wanted to give you guys a head start and share the classic pieces you guys asked about most last year that sold out before fall started. I’m also sharing a round-up of what’s on my wish list – that will likely sell out in the coming weeks. If you’re like me and you’re already incorporating fall pieces into your wardrobe now, you definitely want to get a head start on shopping the hottest trends now. Today, I’m rounding up all the pieces that will sell out so be sure to shop them now, if you’re considering them…
Every fall season Burberry introduces a number of new poncho styles. Like the Burberry trench, it’s a fall classic that you’ll definitely be able to wear for years to come. I got my Burberry poncho a couple of years ago and it’s honestly, always one of my favorite pieces to pull out as soon as fall arrives.
There’s nothing more classic for fall than a Burberry trench coat. It was one of the first designer apparel purchases I made and it was so worth it! It’s a classic that I think I’ll keep in my wardrobe forever. From a price per wear perspective, it really makes sense to invest in this classic silhouette. The best styles and colors always sell out once the season gets going. Mine sold out pretty early last year, but it’s back in stock now. I went with a US 0 for a slim fit. I don’t wear heavy layers under mine, but if you plan on layering, I’d recommend sizing up.
Every fall season, I always get so many questions about this Burberry scarf (featured above) and it’s usually sold out by the time I share it. This season, I’m so excited to see that it’s back in stock (here). Mine is the ‘camel check’ color.
On My Wish List…
I’m not sure that there’s a more iconic winter coat than this one. This celebrity-approved coat sells out every fall/winter season since it was released in 2013. While it’s still too early to even think about wearing this coat, it has been stocked for Pre-Fall releases now. I’d been eyeing this coat for years and almost pulled the trigger last winter while we were in Chicago, but I was unsure about the oversized fit on my petite frame after trying it on. This year, I decided to go for it anyway and anticipate getting a lot of wear out of it for years to come. It is incredibly oversized (size small is the smallest size it comes in), but that’s the allure of it.
Max Mara makes the chicest outerwear hands-down. Outerwear is probably my favorite category to shop and I get so excited to see Max Mara’s lineup each season. Most of the fast-fashion retailers knock off their styles so it’s always a good indication of what will be trending. Aside from the teddy bear coat above, a wrap camel coat by Max Mara is next on my list. There’s nothing softer or chicer!
Every year, I get a lot of questions asking what brand makes the best leather pants and after trying so many different brands, Paige stands out among the best. I first spotted them on my style icon, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and ever since then, I’ve been obsessed. I also love this pair of coated black denim (also a fave of Rosie’s) for an everyday option.
I’m including this one because I’d been eyeing this bag for a while now and I finally bought it last week. I was going to get it in the silver hardware (which also keeps selling out), but I fell in love with the black tone hardware instead for an edgier feel. I typically try to stick with the same jewelry and bag hardware, but this one will go with everything. This bag just got restocked at several retailers and it’s in stock via Saint Laurent directly.

I’ll admit, at first I wasn’t totally on board with this bag, but it’s definitely grown on me. I love how easily you can dress it up or down and the shape is so unique! It’s been selling out so quickly – so if you have the chance to snag one, I recommend it!
