What To Wear This Labor Day

As excited as I am for fall, I still can’t believe that Labor Day weekend is already next week. Although September is still warm, it does mark the unofficial end of summer, which means there are certain pieces that we’ll usually part ways with. That being said, I wanted to share a few outfits that will maximize all the summery pieces in your wardrobe and get you through the long weekend for any occasion that might come up.
Lovers & Friends White Pants (wearing an XXS – runs large, size down) | Privacy Please Crop Top (wearing an XXS – runs TTS) | Saint Laurent Envelope Bag | Ego Perspex Heels (go by UK sizing) | Celine Sunglasses (better for budget here)
Printed Top + White Pants
I love outfits that combine polished pieces with more casual ones. A printed crop top is a great piece to wear if you’re all about feminine style. Pair it high-waisted trousers for a look that’s stylish and transitional for fall. Don’t forget to complete the look off with oversized sunglasses and you’ll be ready to celebrate the long weekend.
Balmain Blazer (wearing an FR34, better for budget here) | Revolve Bodysuit (wearing an XS) | Revolve Leopard Shorts (wearing an XXS) | Tamara Mellon Heels (run TTS) | Prada Cahier Bag | Givenchy Sunglasses
Bodysuit + Printed Shorts
I’ve been obsessed with animal printed shorts throughout summer. I love how chic they look with a blazer layered on top. This is an outfit I’d wear to have brunch with friends or grab drinks at a local bar.
Barefoot Dreams Cardigan (#NSale Find! wearing an S/M) | Reformation White Tank Top (wearing a 0) | Levi’s Denim Shorts (wearing a 24) | Saint Laurent College Bag | Christian Louboutin White Heels | Quay Sunglasses
Feminine Tank + Cutoff Shorts
Labor Day weekend is the perfect time to put a transitional spin on your summer favorites. A flirty tank top paired with denim cutoffs are casual enough for a cookout or a quick lunch date. Adding a cozy cardigan is ideal for after dark when temperatures drop.
Charo Ruiz Dress (wearing an XS, better for budget here) | Givenchy Espadrilles (similar here, better for budget here) | Saint Laurent Linen Tote | Rag & Bone White Panama Hat (better for budget here)
LWD + Espadrilles
A little white dress isn’t something I’ll typically wear in the fall. So while it’s still warm out, this is the perfect time to put your LWDs to good use. Dress it down with flat espadrilles and a linen tote, then take it into a night out with heels and a chain bag.
Gucci Sneakers (size down by 1/2) | Levi’s Denim Shorts (wearing a 24 – run TTS) | Gucci Tee (wearing an XXS) | Zara Cream Tweed Blazer (wearing an XS – similar here) | Saks Off Fifth Hat (similar here) | Celine Luggage Tote
Basic Tee + Denim + Red Accessories
Labor Day is meant to celebrate the contributions and achievements of American workers. Sticking to a classic red, white, and blue palette is a great way to show your patriotism. Sometimes, all you need is a bold pop of color to keep a basic jeans and tee outfit from looking too boring.
Sofia Jeans Denim Jacket (wearing an XS) | Walmart Ribbed Tank Top (under $10 – wearing an XS) | Walmart Panama Hat (under $15) | Walmart Linen Pants (under $15 – wearing an S) | Circus by Sam Edelman Espadrilles (under $25 – run TTS) | Walmart Straw Bag (under $35)
Denim Jacket + Linen Pants + Straw Accessories
Temperatures around Labor Day are still scorching hot especially earlier in the day. You can stay cool with linen pants and a tee. Since it is the holiday to send off summer, this is also the perfect time to let your straw accessories have a final moment in the spotlight.
