Wearing white in the winter can be intimidating, especially because it’s not the most practical choice. There’s always the possibility of the snow melting and turning into slush – or spilling your morning coffee. Then, there’s also that age-old rule of not being able to wear white after Labor Day, which confuses most people. However, wearing head-to-toe white remains one of my favorite combinations in the winter because it reminds me of the blanket of snow that I often wake up to. Plus, an all white outfit always manages to look put together and it’s so easy to pull off if you wear a ton of neutrals. Below, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite winter white looks you can recreate for any occasion!
Outfit Details (above): DSW Plaid Scarf (on dogs) | DSW Pajar Snow Boot (wearing a size 37 normally a US 6 – size up) | DSW Beanie (available in DSW stores, similar here) | Koolaburra Gloves (available in DSW stores) | Apparis White Faux Fur Coat | Aqua Knit Sweater (similar here)

Head-to-Toe White With Tan Booties
The trick to wearing white in the winter is to stay away from summer fabrics like linen, eyelet, and gauze. Instead, you can trade them for heavier renditions that are great for the cooler weather, such as as faux fur, shearling, cashmere, and denim. I love pairing an all white outfit with warm nude shades like tan.
Asos Sweater (sold out, similar here and here) | Chloe Faye Medium Bag | Similar White Denim | Christian Louboutin Heels (similar here) | Janessa Leone Hat (old – similar here, better for budget here)
White Denim & Bardot Sweater
Mixing white with ivory shades also make a super chic winter outfit. Adding on accessories like a fedora and suede handbag up the cozy factor.
Mango Coat (wearing an XXS) | Madewell Sweater (wearing an XS) | Similar White Denim | Bottega Veneta The Pouch (in Mist color – in stock now!) | Quay Aviator Sunglasses (on sale now!) | Gianvito Rossi Heels (run TTS, better for budget here)
White With Pops of Nude
I’m always looking for ways to wear my white jeans, and I typically rely on textures and beige colors to make it interesting. My alpaca-blend sweater above contrasts nicely against the smooth ivory coat, leather clutch, and suede pumps. Playing with textures is a great way to layer up without looking bulky.
Mango Ivory Coat (wearing an XXS) | Similar Mango Sweater Dress | Saint Laurent Sunset Mini Bag (exact color sold out) | Karen Walker Sunglasses | Similar Stuart Weitzman Over-The-Knee Boots (better for budget here)
Ivory Coat & Sweater Dress
Sometimes, rocking winter white is as simple as throwing a tailored coat over a sweater dress and over the knee boots. If you’re not in the mood for white, wearing a monochromatic ivory outfit gives off a similar vibe without the risks.
Similar Bodysuit | Revolve White Linen Pants (wearing an XXS, better for budget here) | Mango Camel Coat (wearing an XS/S, similar here) | Bottega Veneta The Pouch Bag (camel color) | Schutz x Revolve Heels | Celine Sunglasses (better for budget here)
White Outfit With Camel Coat
For a dressier winter outfit, you can’t go wrong with a mock neck bodysuit and floor sweeping white trousers. A camel coat and pair of heels easily elevate this outfit, which you can wear from day to night.
Free People Sweater Dress (wearing an XS) | Stuart Weitzman Over-The-Knee Boots (better for budget here) | Louis Vuitton Neverfull Tote (MM size) | Kyi Kyi Beanie | Karen Walker Sunglasses (better for budget here)
White Sweater Dress With Tan Over The Knee Boots
White mixed with brown is another great way to pull off this controversial color in the winter. I just love how brown warms up the white. Adding over the knee boots play up shorter hemlines and make a dress feel more appropriate in freezing temperatures.
Pretty Little Thing Coat (under $40!) | Revolve Lace Top (wearing an XS) | Levi’s Denim (wearing a 23 – size down) | Christian Louboutin Heels (similar here) | Saint Laurent Sunset Bag | Quay Sunglasses
White Duster Coat & Jeans
Winter white outfits don’t always have to include white denim. I love how refreshing the lace top and duster coat above look with blue jeans. This is an easy way to transition some of your favorite summer pieces into winter!
White Coat & Boots With Gray Knitwear
This season, I finally gave into the white boot trend and first broken them in with gray tones. I love how cool this color combination feels compared to my usual warm beige.
