A change of season means a change in my wardrobe! Fortunately, a wardrobe refresh doesn’t require an entire overhaul especially if you invest in 10 pieces that can be mixed together for endless outfit options. Whether your goal is to be more sustainable this year or if you just want to simplify the process of getting dressed, capsule wardrobes are the trick to getting it done. Although I’m a sucker for trends, you really don’t need to buy into the hottest pieces of the moment for a chic outfit. Today, I’m sharing 10 items you can wear on rotation and get the most from this spring.
& Other Stories Blazer (wearing an XS) | Louis Vuitton Multi Pochette Accessories | Zara Faux Leather Pants (similar here) | Christian Louboutin White Heels (better for budget here) | Celine Sunglasses (better for budget here)
1. White or Beige Blazer
Although, blazers are optimal for any time of the year, a white or beige-toned one tends to look crisp and clean for the start of the spring season. You can style them with so many different things from leather pants to denim or dresses. Refer back to this post here for my favorite ways to style a blazer.
Mango Camel Coatigan (wearing an XS/S) | Verishop Bodysuit (wearing an XS) | Levi’s Denim (runs TTS) | Revolve Camel Booties | Hermes Belt (wearing a size 75) | Saint Laurent Sunset Bag | Saint Laurent Sunglasses (better for budget here)
2. Coatigan
A coatigan provides the same effect as a longline coat, but is lighter and perfect for in-between seasons. You can wear it at the onset of spring when the weather is chilly but not too cold. I like to layer mine over basics or workwear – it’s super stylish either way!
Sofia Jeans Faux Leather Moto Jacket (wearing an XXS) | Sofia Jeans Black Halter Top (wearing an XS) | Sofia Jeans Gray Denim (wearing a 0) | Scoop Strappy Heels (run TTS)
3. Moto Jacket
A moto jacket is an easy way to add some edge to a spring look. Go for suede and soft neutral leather this season for a lighter look. It’s one of the few outerwear pieces that transition seamlessly from day to night – and you can always add more layers if temperatures take a dip.
Sofia Jeans Faux Leather Moto Jacket (wearing an XXS) | Sofia Jeans Black Halter Top (wearing an XS) | Sofia Jeans Gray Denim (wearing a 0) | Scoop Strappy Heels (run TTS) | Givenchy Antigona Bag
4. Cold Shoulder Knits
If you’re not quite ready to give up your sweaters, swap out your chunky turtlenecks for cold shoulder silhouettes. I’m obsessed with cutout details around the neck and shoulder.
Mango Black Coat (wearing an XS) | Verishop Lace Bodysuit (wearing an XS) | GRLFRND Denim (wearing a 23, better for budget here) | Dior Locket Necklace (similar here) | Saint Laurent Red Bag | Celine Sunglasses (sold out – similar here, better for budget here) | Christian Louboutin Red Heels (better for budget here)
5. Bodysuit
Bodysuits are ideal for layering and can be worn underneath anything. I love how they create a flattering silhouette. Since my spring style is all about tees and tanks, bodysuits are perfect because they have the ease of basics but in an elevated way.
White Equipment Sleeveless Top (wearing an XS) | Levi’s White Jeans (also here, wearing a 24) | Saint Laurent Rive Gauche Tote (better for budget here and here) | Saint Laurent Sunglasses (better for budget here and here) | Christian Louboutin White Heels (better for budget here)
6. White Blouse
Pretty white blouses are an absolute must-have in my opinion! Whether it’s a classic button down top or something a little more flirty – like a lace blouse, your styling options will be endless.
Similar Sheath Dress (better for budget here) | Similar Vinyl Heels | Saint Laurent College Bag
7. Knit Dress
Knit dresses are such a huge trend this season and they couldn’t be more perfect for a spring capsule wardrobe. They look great whether worn alone or layered up with a duster coat. My personal favorite is a button-down style or sheath dress with a thigh slit.
Max Mara Teddy Bear Coat (wearing an S, better for budget here) | Mango White Turtleneck Sweater (wearing an XS) | Topshop White Denim (wearing a 25) | 47′ Brand NY Yankees Cap | Louis Vuitton Multi Pochette Accessories | Tom Ford Sunglasses (better for budget here) | Alexander Wang Suede Booties (similar here and here)
8. White Pants
Spring always puts me in the mood for white pants. High-rise wide leg trousers are super lightweight and chic for the office while denim is perfect for brunch dates!
Charo Ruiz Dress (wearing an XS, better for budget here) | Saint Laurent Linen Tote | Rag & Bone White Panama Hat (better for budget here)
9. Woven Handbag
Woven handbags are one trend that will never go away in the spring. The great thing about them is that they’re not only affordable but so practical for a tropical vacation or everyday. I purchased this linen tote last spring and can’t wait to put it to use again in the upcoming weeks.
Nike Beanie | Anine Bing Sweatshirt (wearing an S) | Nike Red Sneakers (run TTS) | Commando Faux Leather Pants (wearing an S) | Topshop Biker Jacket (similar here) | Celine Sunglasses (better for budget here) | Givenchy Antigona Bag
10. Sneakers
Sneakers are the best footwear style for those on-the-go days when you want to look cute but comfy on the fly. A clean, minimal style goes with just about any outfit and never looks too sporty.
