All The Shackets You Need In Your Wardrobe & How To Style Them

If Instagram is any indication of what’s trending at the moment, then I think it’s safe to say that shackets are the biggest “It” item of the season. Although I try not to cave into every trend I come across, the shacket has been a hard one to resist. It’s essentially a cross between a shirt and a jacket – and features a menswear-inspired silhouette. The relaxed, oversized fit makes it the perfect layering piece when you’re out braving the cold. Lately, I find myself reaching for it more instead of the usual blazer or leather jacket. I love how it goes seamlessly over chunky knits or turtleneck tops while keeping me extra cozy. If you haven’t added one to your wardrobe yet, now’s the time. Here are all the best shackets you can shop right now.

1. Plaid Shacket
The plaid shacket is a key style every girl should have in her wardrobe this winter. I love how it mixes both grungy and preppy elements for a cool, casual look. It’s pretty much fail proof in terms of how you style it, but I’ll typically wear it to break up a monochromatic look – or to dress down an outfit.

2. Textured Shacket
Shackets are dropping daily in all my favorite cozy textures from fleece to faux shearling and tweed. Add it to your everyday uniform by teaming it with your favorite snow boots. Whether you’re rocking this combo with vinyl leggings or denim, you’ll exude that cool-girl vibe instantly.

3. Neutral Shacket
A neutral shacket is my favorite of them all. I especially love a beige topper for its versatility. You can wear it unbuttoned over a turtleneck top and jeans for a casual, everyday outfit – or belt it at the waist with over-the-knee boots. It looks so chic either way.

4. Long Shacket
If you want to step up your off-duty wardrobe, a long shacket is your best solution. You can style it just as you would a normal coat. Whether you opt for a solid neutral or a bold plaid print, the longline silhouette will help you stand out among a crowd.

5. Faux Leather Shacket
Leather puts an edgy spin on the shacket, and I’m here for it. It’s such a great way to change up the usual biker jacket look, which you guys know I love. It can even add a bit of polish to more relaxed ensembles like sweatsuits.
