5 Fresh Ways to Style Your Spring Basics
My style lately has been all about casual ease and wardrobe basics. The best part about everyday staples is that they help you maximize comfort and keep you looking polished all day long. My go-to’s include a great pair of jeans, bodysuits and layering tees – all of which make up a huge portion of my spring and summer looks. That being said, I’ll be the first to admit that they can get boring fast. So, I’m always looking for small tweaks to make them feel updated. If you can relate, then I’ve got 5 quick hacks you’ll want to employ this season in order to breathe new life into your daily essentials.

1. Style Jeans & a Tee with a Baseball Cap
Baseball caps, also called “dad hats” today, have been a long-time trick of mine to add an air of cool to my casual outfits. Designers like, Saint Laurent, Isabel Marant and Rag & Bone, have all jumped onto the trend – each offering up their own version of it. There are of course more affordable options too, like my go-to MLB caps. Just throw one on top of any outfit and it’ll feel very of-the-moment.

2. Swap Your Classic Tee for a Ruched Top
T-shirts, tanks and bodysuits don’t always have to be basic. I’ll often keep an eye out for interesting necklines, subtle adornments or unexpected details to keep things fresh. This season, I’m all about ruching and drawstring accents. I love that they add all the interest in the world without sacrificing comfort.

3. Throw a Blazer Over Your Workout Set
One uniform I’ve kept on heavy rotation lately is throwing a blazer on top of a workout set. It’s so easy to pull off when you’re on a time crunch – and looks surprisingly chic too. This basic combo looks good with any footwear of your choice from sneakers to chunky slides.

4. Pair a Henley with a Lace Bralette
A surefire way to keep your basics looking new is to layer them with eye-catching pieces. I’ll often wear my sheer tees, henley tops and button-down shirts with a lace bralette or corset. The feminine finish is just what you need to take your jeans up a notch. It stands out just enough without overtaking the casual vibes.

5. Try A Bold-Colored Blazer
You girls know how much I love blazers. If you want to give your basics a whole new look, consider shopping for a bright and bold piece that steals the show. I’m a huge proponent of red, yellow and green blazers – they’re a refreshingly chic addition to add on top of a neutral fit.
