White pants are a no brainer in the summer – they’re crisp, refreshing and endlessly chic. However, they’ve quickly achieved must-have status in my wardrobe for the fall and winter months too. I find that they always make the perfect base to start an outfit. Regardless of how you style them, they never fail to look elegant. Since white pants were so trendy throughout spring and summer, I figured most of you probably already have one hanging inside your closet. So, I wanted to make a case for wearing these trusty bottoms all year long.

1. Chunky Knit Sweater
The easiest way to adapt white pants for fall is to pair them with a chunky knit sweater. The effortlessness of the top mixed with the tailored bottoms oozes effortlessness in the chicest way. While any color combination can work, I love going for a head-to-toe white ensemble.

2. Houndstooth Blazer
My obsession with houndstooth isn’t slowing down at all this year. And a houndstooth blazer happens to be the perfect match for your favorite white trousers. Throw in an element of surprise by wearing a corset underneath the two polished pieces.

3. Camel Tones
A beautiful coat in a fall-ready hue, such as camel, looks flawless with a pair of fitted white pants. If you want to change up your typical trouser silhouette, opt out of slim pant legs and into a split-hem silhouette. The addition of white pumps help create the illusion of long legs.

4. Tweed Textures
You can always keep your outfit simple with classic pieces, like a tweed jacket. This foolproof workwear combination will take you from day to night with ease. If you’re wearing an all-white ensemble, be sure to add in other colors to break things up.

5. Coatigan
The last item I rely on to take my white pants from summer into the colder months is the coatigan. Note that a long cardigan works just as well. When layered on top of any white pants, you get a no-frills look that feels perfectly fall.
