Dopamine dressing has been a huge theme of 2022 so far – and a large part of that has been dressing in bold colors from head to toe. If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that my style tends to favor neutrals. Everything just becomes easier to style – and neutral outfits generally look more expensive. But with color being so prevalent lately, it can be tempting to stuff your wardrobe with dramatic hues. So, I wanted to share some of the fall fashion colors I’m personally loving from striking jewel tones to new season neutrals. They’re a great way to add a punch to your wardrobe while also being timeless enough to keep for the next few seasons.

Burgundy / Oxblood
Year after year, this dark burgundy, maroon color makes an entrance. It’s one of my favorites because it’s flattering on every skin tone and looks incredibly luxe in rich textures like velvet and leather. One of my favorite ways to style it is by wearing an oxblood base, topped off with camel coat. I also love oxblood leather jackets with black outfits

Ivory / Off White
Dressing in all white has proven to be seasonless time after time. However, this season, skip the stark whites in favor of creamier tones. Whether you wear a cozy sweater with floor-grazing trousers or a cropped turtleneck over a slip dress, you’re bound to be one of the chicest on the streets.

Chocolate Brown
Neutral lovers can rejoice with chocolate brown being a major fall fashion color this year. The dark, rich color is as classic as it gets when it comes to autumn. Elevate the color ever so slightly by mixing different textures, like shearling and leather. You can even play with plaid and houndstooth patterns to change things up.

Green
All shades of green have been especially popular this year. While you won’t see me rocking lime green, I do love the darker options, like hunter green, kelly green and olive. I find that green looks best with other earthy hues like beige. If you really want to stand out, add a green coat over an all white ensemble.

Yellow
If you’re looking to add a true pop color to your wardrobe, one color to take advantage of is yellow. You can get away with bright, summery shades at the onset of fall and then transition to marigolds later in the season. For chillier moments, consider a sweater and pencil skirt combo with a neutral coat.

Gray
I’m also stoked for the return of gray as a major color trend. It’s fitting for minimal style lovers and working women alike. Darker charcoal shades are poised to be the most popular but mix and match it with other shades of gray for a visually appealing effect.
