What To Buy From The Nordstrom Bonus Points Event

In case you haven’t noticed, this week is the perfect time to buy everything on your fall wishlist. There’s a lot going on at Shopbop (get my top picks here) and Saks 5th Avenue (more here) – and now Nordstrom too. If I had to pick, I would recommend saving Nordstrom for last because the Bonus Points event will run through October 1, whereas you only have until Friday to shop at Shopbop and Saks.
The event lets you get a $60 Bonus Note when you open a new Nordstrom card and make a purchase. If you’re already a cardholder, you can earn extra points on all purchases made by October 1. Typically, you only earn 1 point per dollar with every purchase, but now, you can get a total of 5 points per dollar for members and 10 points for cardmembers.
That being said, I love the broad range of brands and price points that Nordstrom carries. Whether I’m looking for designer or budget-friendly pieces, I know I can find it here. You should take advantage of this event to earn extra rewards on anything that might be missing from your closet. All points add up to notes, which can be cashed in at a minimum of $5. I always love using Nordstrom notes to purchase smaller ticket items like beauty products or candles. If you’re wondering what to put on your shopping list this season, scroll on for my top picks!

Knitwear
Shopping for sweaters can be tricky because every retailer has tons to choose from. Nordstrom is one of the places I always head to first because I know they carry a great range of styles that are high in quality. Every now and then, I’ll splurge on a cashmere sweater but will typically save on most of my knitwear. Some of my favorites come from Topshop, Free People, and a few other brands that are exclusive to Nordstrom.

Basics
Fall style is all about layering so it’s always a good idea to stock up on a handful of basics that will get you through the season. I love sleeved bodysuits and turtleneck tops that can easily be tucked into skirts or denim.

Tall Boots
Although I recommend splurging on high-quality over the knee boots, I’ll often save on other trendy styles. This season is all about knee-high boots and Nordstrom carries so many beautiful styles from Sam Edelman, Steve Madden, and Marc Fisher.
Balmain Blazer (better for budget here) | Abercrombie Black Crop Top | Revolve Brown Skirt | Chanel Bag | Chanel Quilted Combat Boots (available here, better for budget here) | Givenchy Sunglasses
Lace Up Boots
Lace up boots are such a chic way to stay stylish and practical, especially if you live in a place like Minnesota that gets a ton of snow through winter. I love how they amp up that cool, street style vibe in every outfit.
H&M Gray Coat | H&M Gray Turtleneck Sweater | Topshop Gray Jeans (size up) | Gianvito Rossi Gray Suede Heels | Saint Laurent Large College Bag | Saint Laurent Sunglasses
Denim
I wear denim nearly everyday in the fall and winter seasons, so it’s always important that I have enough to rotate through. Levi’s and Topshop are hands down my favorite denim brands under $100.
Stuart Weitzman Over-The-Knee Boots (run TTS) | Leith Gray Sweater (wearing an XS, similar here and here) | Levi’s Denim Shorts | Givenchy Antigona Bag (read review HERE) | Celine Sunglasses
Beauty
Changes in the weather means it’s time to update your beauty routine. I typically switch to heavier formulas and richer pigments that are the perfect match for cooler temps.
