If there’s one piece I truly can’t live without in the winter, it’s a great pair of jeans. It’s not only the perfect match for all your winter essentials but is comfortable for the most part. With the broad range of washes, cuts, and silhouettes available, you can create an endless amount of looks with just a few styles – and that’s what I love most about denim. If you’re in need of new outfit ideas featuring this wardrobe staple, I’m sharing some of my quick tricks you can use to make your denim outfits look more expensive right now.

1. Add a smart neutral coat
A smart neutral coat will make any pair of jeans look timeless and elevated. I find that this is one of the easiest pieces to style since it goes just as well with a hoodie as it does with a feminine blouse. No matter how you style it though, it’ll make your jeans look high-end.

2. Style it with similar colors
There’s nothing chicer to me than a tonal outfit styled with heels and a great bag. My favorite colors to wear are winter whites, head-to-toe black and warm, caramel tones. By styling your denim with pieces in the same color family, you’ll look more elegant and expensive – even if you’re wearing the most budget-friendly pieces.

3. Wear it with a statement sweater
If you’re seeking effortless ways to dress up your jeans and make it look lavish, all you need is a statement sweater. Embellished sweaters are so exquisite – and they’re a foolproof way to ramp up the luxe vibes. There are also tons of other details to look for in cozy knits that will add that special touch.

4. Go for a faux fur coat
I’m a huge fan of faux shearling and faux fur coats because they’re generally affordable – and perform wonders for dressing up a basic denim outfit. A brown teddy bear coat complements more casual looks while a black or white faux fur coat injects instant glam.

5. Play with layers
Layers are key to making a denim outfit appear more interesting and expensive. While you can always top off your ensembles with a great coat, a designer blanket scarf will help add more interest. I also love layering with belts, cardigans, and cozy head gear. To see my layering tips, you can read this post HERE.

6. Incorporate leather
Faux leather jackets are huge right now and come in all forms from shackets to trench coats and classic biker jackets. Take your pick and throw it over a simple t-shirt and jeans for a casual but upscale look.
